A single vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on Winder Highway and Perry Lane left the driver of the vehicle injured.
The Georgia State Patrol said the driver, Michael Kenneth Patterson, 56, of Oakwood, was extricated from the vehicle by Hall County Fire Rescue and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to GSP, Patterson was traveling east on Winder Highway when the vehicle failed to maintain its lane, crossed from the right-turn lane for Perry Lane across both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Winder Highway and came to rest on the north shoulder.
After entering the north shoulder, the vehicle struck a utility pole, causing the pole to break. The impact resulted in the vehicle overturning and power lines falling across the roadway.
Patterson's injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and charges are pending.
Winder Highway was closed for close to 30 minutes while crews worked the scene.
