A multi-vehicle wreck on Mt. Vernon Road just north of Gainesville Monday morning led to two people being transported for injuries.

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), troopers responded to Mt. Vernon Road near Oak Harbour Drive to investigate a three-vehicle crash.

The trooper determined that a 2025 Subaru Outback driven by 77-year-old Caroline Grandy of Gainesville was stopped and waiting to turn into her driveway.

A 2011 Kia Sorento driven by 45-year-old Jessica Ford of Gainesville was also stopped behind Grandy’s Subaru.

That’s when officials say a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado driven by 65-year-old Anthony Webb of Gainesville approached from behind and struck the rear of Ford’s Kia, causing Ford to spin and strike the rear of Grandy’s Subaru.

Webb had a visible injury according to GSP while Ford had a complaint of an injury. Both were transported to the hospital while Webb was cited for following too closely.
