Hall County emergency officials will be conducting an audible test of the county's weather sirens at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6.

The test will sound the sirens across the county for three minutes as part of a test that is conducted on the sirens once every three months. The sirens are typically only sounded in the case of a tornado warning in the county.

"Other than these previously announced tests, all sirens should be considered an actual tornado warning. The upcoming test will be canceled in the event of a legitimate severe weather threat," a statement from county emergency officials said.

The county also has other methods of providing emergency information, including a Citizen's Alert System with text alerts. More information on that can be found on the county's website.
