Officials with the Barrow County Government are announcing two key roles within their county have been filled, as they continue to invest in providing high-quality essential services for residents and businesses.
Bill Nash has been hired as Deputy County Manager, and interim Fire Chief Brett Skinner has been promoted to the postion on a permanent, full time basis.
Nash is a registered professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects. A post on the Barrow County Government social media page says Nash currently serves as Director of Public Works and Utilities for Hall County. Prior to that, he was a business owner and managed his own civil engineering firm for more than a decade. Nash holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and will begin his role in Barrow County on August 25.
Barrow County Manager Srikanth Yamala says in the press release, “I was impressed by his skill set, ability to navigate complex projects, and commitment to customer service. Bill’s prior work in the public and private sectors makes him a great fit to manage departments handling generational infrastructure projects for our organization.”
Skinner has been serving as the interim Fire Chief for Barrow County since June, has now been named to the position full time, effective July 26. Skinner previously served as Deputy Fire Chief for Barrow County, and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency services and fire rescue. He is a Georgia Certified Fire CHief and a Georgia Advnced Certified Emergency Manager.
Yamala said of Skinner, “I am excited to have Chief Skinner lead the fine men and women of the Barrow County Fire Department. Over the years, he (Skinner) successfully demonstrated the skills necessary to build on the high standards of professionalism and service to our community and business partners.”
