More details have been released after a body was found inside a car fire in Forsyth County.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), a deputy responded to Briar Ridge Way at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
After seeing a 2021 Toyota Corolla fully engulfed in flames in the roadway in front of a residence, the deputy attempted to make contact with the owners of the residence.
FCSO reports their deputy was able to make contact with Rachel Diaz, who confirmed the car was not hers.
It was during that conversation that Forsyth County Fire Department units arrived and began applying water to the car fire and it was revealed that a body was inside the vehicle deceased.
“As I continued to speak with Rachel she advised her ex-boyfriend could be the one responsible because he has a history of stalking her,” the report reads. “She identified her ex-boyfriend to be Brandon Rowland.”
A registration check determined the vehicle belongs to Pranay Seela from Cumming.
Authorities said at this time it can not be confirmed if the subject or victim is Rowland.

Officials say a body was found inside a car fire early Saturday morning in Forsyth County.
Forsyth County Fire Department officials say neighbors reported the car fire along Briar Ridge Way just east of Cumming at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
"No one knew about the body until the fire was being extinguished and the fire crew was overhauling the vehicle," Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers said. "Upon discovering the deceased, per our standard operations, the fire crew immediately called for a fire investigator."
Shivers said the county's fire marshal's office and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office are both investigating the incident. The unidentified victim's body has been taken to the Forsyth County Coroner's Office for autopsy.
