BERTHOUD, Colo. — Spencer Ralston will begin his second round at The Ascendant at TPC Colorado on Friday just six shots off the lead.
The Gainesville native is part of 116 golfers within six shots of the lead after the first round after shooting a 1-over par 73 in Thursday’s opening round. He sat at 1-under after his opening nine holes after birdies at Nos. 3 and 9 to erase a bogey 4 on the Par 3 2nd.
But he bogeyed Nos. 14, 15, and 18 sandwiched around a birdie at the Par 3 16th to close out the round.
Ralston is one of the final groups of the day to tee off for the second round of the Korn Ferry event at 2:49 local time. He has made the cut in three of his last five tour events.
