A 15-year-old driver was involved in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on State Route 365 that resulted in a rollover into the highway median.
The Georgia State Patrol said the teen was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado northbound in the left lane of SR 365 at around 4:20 p.m. when the vehicle merged into the right lane due to a possible tire failure.
The truck veered onto the right shoulder. The driver attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway but overcorrected, causing the pickup to overturn into the median, GSP said.
The Silverado came to rest upright on top of the cable barrier dividing the lanes.
A 49-year-old adult from Alto was riding in the passenger seat. Authorities did not report any injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by GSP.
The roadway was closed for over an hour.
