The body of a missing swimmer from a Forsyth County park along Lake Lanier has been recovered by area rescue crews.

Georgia DNR confirmed with multiple media sources late Sunday that the body of 27-year old Ramon Diaz-Soria was found at around 7:30 p.m. one day after he went under the surface after leaving boat not far from the Vanns Tavern Park in Forsyth County late Saturday.

Witnesses told investigators Diaz-Soria was wearing a life jacket when he jumped in, but went under and did not resurface, while his life jacket floated to the surface.

DNR and search teams from Forsyth and Hall Counties used SONAR to locate the victim's body. The case remains under investigation.
