BATN ROUGE, La. — Ethan Frey went 4 for 4 and drove in four runs, Luis Hernandez hit two solo home runs and Casan Evans put on a show out of the bullpen as LSU rallied to defeat upstart Little Rock 10-6 to win the Baton Rouge Regional. Little Rock was bidding to become the first team with a losing record to reach a super regional. Now LSU will host unseeded West Virginia, winner of the Clemson Regional, next weekend. Evans entered the game in the bottom of the second inning as Little Rock was building a 5-1 lead. He threw a career high 109 pitches over six innings with a career-high 12 strikeouts, including nine straight. Frey had a solo home run in the first inning and then hit a two-out three-run double in the fourth to bring LSU within 5-4.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Manny Marin hit a two-out, three-run home run, and Andrew Fischer followed with a two-run shot in a seven-run fourth inning as No. 14 overall seed and defending champion Tennessee beat Wake Forest 11-5 to win the Knoxville Regional. The Volunteers travel to play No. 3 seed Arkansas in a best-of-three super regional for a berth in the College World Series. Vols reliever Brayden Krenzel got the win, and Liam Doyle got the final seven outs for his first save.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Gavin Gallaher went 4 for 6 with two home runs and four RBIs to help No. 5 overall seed North Carolina beat Oklahoma 14-4 to win the Chapel Hill Regional. The Tar Heels (45-13) move on to host a best-of-3 super regional as one of the top eight remaining seeds. Hunter Stokely had a two-run double in the top of the first inning, and Alex Madera singled in a run as North Carolina scored three unearned runs off Reid Hensley (4-2) and never trailed. Oklahoma (38-22) was making its 41st appearance in the tournament.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Brian O’Connor, who led Virginia to seven College World Series appearances and a national championship, is leaving the Cavaliers to take over at Mississippi State. MSU announced O’Connor’s hiring after the Bulldogs’ season-ending 5-2 loss to Florida State on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament. The 54-year-old O’Connor won 917 games over 22 seasons at Virginia and was national coach of the year three times and Atlantic Coast Conference coach of the five times. Mississippi State fired seventh-year coach Chris Lemonis on April 28.
