A Gainesville woman was arrested this week for card fraud and exploitation of an elderly person.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports that 29-year-old Daja LaPrincess Hill was arrested on Tuesday following a two-week investigation.

Hill was arrested on charges of felony financial transaction card fraud and exploitation of an elderly person.

The investigation began on May 13 after a deputy met with the victim, a 74-year-old male cancer patient.

The man reported someone made unauthorized transactions on his card.

The victim and his wife met with their bank and determined the transactions totaled $2,720.95.

The money was transferred from their bank account to a PayPal account.

HCSO was able to link the PayPal account to Hill who was arrested at a hotel on Lanier Islands Parkway on Tuesday.

Hill knew the victim according to authorities and remains in the Hall County Jail as of last report with a $12,700 bond in Hall County and a hold for Newton County.
