A Cleveland man was arrested on drug possession charges after he allegedly threw drugs out of his car during a pursuit on Tuesday, May 13.
The White County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy tried to pull over Paul Hunter, 42, for a traffic violation.
Hunter reportedly led deputies on a short chase before he was stopped and detained.
Hunter threw nearly 2.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine out of the vehicle during the pursuit.
The sheriff’s Office open an investigation into Hunter on Thursday, May 14 for trafficking meth.
Deputies performed a search of Hunters home and reportedly found nearly 5.5 ounces of meth, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
Hunter was charged with 2 counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of drug related objects, abandonment of dangerous drugs, fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, failure to obey traffic control device, operating an unregistered vehicle and removing or affixing license plate to conceal identity of vehicle.
