Gainesville woman charged in domestic violence case

A Gainesville woman was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor battery in a weekend domestic violence case. 
 
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called  to a residence on B. Clark Road in northeastern Hall County just before 12 a.m. on Sunday, May 11. Upon their arrival, authorities found a male victim with an injury to his forehead. 
 
Preliminary details in the case showed Sara Elizabeth Lee, 40, allegedly punched the victim, then grabbed him around the neck from behind, choking him until he briefly lost consciousness. 
 
Emergency medical personnel evaluated the victim, but he refused transport to a hospital. 
 
Lee was arrested and remains in the Hall County Jail without bond. 
Sara Elizabeth Lee, 40, of Gainesville faces charges under the Family Violence Act.
