The City of Gainesville has announced the 2025 recipients of the Chicken Festival Scholarship Funds.
The three winners were announced Tuesday by Mayor Sam Couvillon during the latest regular meeting of the Gainesville City Council.
Jackson Daniel received the first grand prize of $2,000. The second and third place winners Kylianne Brown and Madison Chastain received $1,500 each.
The Chicken Festival Scholarship Fund supports college students pursuing a degree in poultry science or any related agricultural field.
The scholarship opportunity is open to graduating high school seniors or current college students in Georgia pursuing a career in the poultry industry. Scholarship funding comes from sponsors of the Gainesville Chicken Festival. The scholarship is presented by the North Georgia Community Foundation.
