ATHENS, Ga. — North Hall, White County, and Jefferson all advanced to the Class 3A girls state golf championships on Monday.
The Lady Trojans fired a 164 at the Area 3A girls tournament to claim the area title at Jennings Mill Country Club. White County shot a 173 and Jefferson a 174 as the top three teams are guaranteed a spot in the Class 3A tournament, which will be held May 19–20 at Highlands Country Club in LaGrange.
“This group continues to impress,” North Hall coach Rodney House said. “Lillie’s leadership combined with the composure our freshmen showed today was the key to our success.”
On the individual side, Cherokee Bluff’s Alisa Pressley, who won the Class 4A state title in 2024, captured low medalist honors shooting a 1-under 71 to beat Dawson County’s Pearl Hughes, who took second with a 78, and North Hall's Lillie Mallis and Gabriella Jones, who fired rounds of 81 and 83, respectively. White County's Maddie Kate Hall rounded out the top five with an 85.
