The recovery and cleaning begins today following the quick-hitting severe thunderstorms and high winds through much of Hall County and northern Georgia.

Several of viewers, readers and listeners to the AccessWDUN-Jacobs Media Corporation's media outlets captured personal experiences with the rain, thunderstorms and isolated water spouts on Lake Lanier after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2.  Much of the storm damage impacted several areas by the Lakewood Baptist Church and homes near Thompson Bridge Road, among other locations. Several reports of downed trees and damaged property were submitted.  Many video images can be viewed on our AccessWDUN social media today.

Hall County Director of Emregency Management Zack Brackett said Friday night that credible reports of a tornado prompted their department to sound the outdoor warning sirens, although an official tornado warning was not issued. Hall County Emergency Management is in contact with the National Weather Service and working to have a storm survey performed to confirm any OFFICIAL tornado activity occurred.
