Ten northeast Georgia area teams in Classes 3A down to A Division 1 will open their Georgia High School Association series around the area and state on Friday.
All series are best-of-three, with doubleheaders on Friday and Game 3s, if necessary, on Saturday. However, rain is forecast for most of Friday in north Georgia.
North Hall, the overall No. 3 seed in Class 3A, and 11th-seeded Cherokee Bluff will both be at home to lead the way. The Trojans will take on Richmond Academy at Cottrell Field, while the Bears will entertain Lumpkin County in Bluff Ballpark.
The other area team at home is Banks County in Class A D1. The Leopards, seeded ninth, will play host to Bacon County in Homer.
Dawson County, Jefferson, and West Hall all will be on the road in Class 3A. The Spartans face the toughest challenge heading to the overall No. 2 seed, Peach County.
East Jackson and Union County in Class 2A and Rabun County in Class A D1 will also hit the road in the opening round.
