Patrons of a national restaurant chain's Forsyth County location will need to find a new venue for meals during the foreseeable future.
Forsyth County Fire Department says a roof fire early Thursday occured when construction crews were making roof repairs at the Golden Corral restaurant on Market Place Boulevard. Ladder crews were called to douse the fire that was considered minimal in size and was quickly contained by the building's sprinkler system and fire department apparatus.
More extensive smoke and water damage was reported on the restaurant's interior and exterior sections. Forsyth officials noted that the significant damage from smoke and water will force the restaurant's closure for an extended period of time.
Forsyth officials said that none of the roofing company or restauarant workers were injured.
