A Winder restaurant owner and manager was arrested on Mar. 7 on rape and kidnapping charges.
The Winder Police Department said Daniel Barrios Catalan, 46, of Winder, who is the co-owner of the Latin Flavors restaurant in Winder is accused of raping an employee after she was provided with alcohol following her shift.
According to the investigation, on Mar. 1, Barrios Catalan allegedly provided the 18-year-old victim with alcohol at the restaurant and then took her to a private area of the restaurant. Later, he drove the victim to his home from the restaurant early the following morning.
The victim reportedly became heavily impaired to the point of losing consciousness.
She visited a local hospital for treatment, and a mandated reporter at the hospital reported the allegation to the police department.
He was charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of rape.
Barrios Catalan was booked into the Barrow County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing.
