A fire in Homer led to an injury and significant property damage on Wednesday.
Banks County Emergency officials report that at around 5 p.m. they were called out to a home on Woodland Street for a reported structure fire.
When crews arrived, they found the single-family residence as well as vehicles in the yard well involved with fire.
One male victim was found outside the home on the ground. He was treated and transported by EMS to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and other complaints.
The fire was put out and the American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Banks County and the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The incident was resolved at around 8:30 p.m.
