A Braselton man who was injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Winder Highway on March 5 died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) on Sunday.

55-year-old Shannon Dwight Pressley has been identified as the victim.

The collision occurred at around 8 a.m. on Winder Highway near Cedar Ridge Drive in Oakwood.

The investigation determined that Pressley was driving in the right hand lane of Winder Highway and failed to slow for vehicles that were stopped in traffic congestion.

Pressley struck a passenger vehicle from behind and that vehicle hit an SUV in front of it according to officials.

Pressley’s pickup truck traveled into the median of the roadway, and he suffered serious injuries as a result.

The sheriff’s office also said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
