With below freezing morning temperatures and slight snowfall and precipitation lingering in the North Georgia Mountains region this morning (Thursday, March 6, 2025), some counties are being cautious with road conditions and school systems.
Gilmer and Union Counties have announced that their public school systems are operating on a two hour delay for today. Faculty and staff are to report accordingly.
Officials from both counties are seeing potential for icing in side streets and roads with minimal sun making contact on roads during the early hours.
