Five ranked northeast Georgia area teams will be in action in several key region showdowns on Tuesday.
The biggest ranked showdown will take place in Dawsonville when the Dawson County girls (3-2, 0-1 Region 6-3A) plays host to arch-rival Lumpkin County (4-0, 0-0 Region 6-3A). Another big 6-3A matchup on the girls side will take place in Oakwood when the sixth-ranked Johnson girls (3-1, 1-0 Region 6-3A) take on White County (3-2, 1-0 Region 6-3A) at The Dungeon.
The Cherokee Bluff and Chestatee girls will stage a non-region, ranked matchup at Yonah Field. The Lady Bears (2-3) are ranked seventh and the Lady War Eagles (2-3) are ranked 10th in Class 3A.
On the boys side, Class 5A fifth-ranked Gainesville (6-0, 1-0 Region 7-5A) will take on Roswell (3-3, 1-0 Region 7-5A) on the road looking to stay atop the region standings.
