No one was injured in a Sautee Nacoochee residential fire Friday night.

A release from White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett said White County Fire Services were called to a home on Autumn Hill Rd. in the Panorama Estates neighborhood at 8:41 p.m. Once units arrived on the scene, they discovered that the home’s roof was emitting heavy black smoke.

The fire was contained with the assistance of the Helen Fire Department, White County EMS, the White County Sheriff’s Office and White County Emergency Management, according to the release. Crews remained on the scene throughout the evening to assess the area for additional hotspots.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office, initial details indicated that the fire originated from the home’s chimney.

Fire crews in White County were called to the home in the Panorama Estates neighborhood just before 9 p.m. on Feb.21, 2025.
