A man and woman were found dead inside a Duluth apartment complex Thursday night in what Gwinnett County authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said in a release officers were called to an apartment complex on the 1600 block of Centerview Dv. at 10:30 p.m. for a welfare check. A family member of one of the residents told authorities they had not heard from their uncle in several days after receiving what they believed to be a suicide note from him.
Forced entry was used to enter the apartment where the man and woman were found dead inside. A preliminary investigation indicated the female died by strangulation while the male died by hanging. The medical examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the official cause of death, according to a release from the GCPD.
The investigation is considered active, but authorities do not believe anyone else was involved. Both names will be withheld until next of kin can be notified.

Officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department were called to a Duluth apartment complex for a welfare check on Feb. 20. Once officers entered the apartment, they found a man and woman dead inside.
