White County promotes Josh Taylor as their next Assistant Chief in Fire Services

White County Public Safety officials are promoting from within their ranks to proudly to fill a leadership role with their Fire Services Division.

 

A release this week from White County officials announced the promotion of Josh Taylor to the rank of Assistant Chief in Fire Services . The White County Emergency Operations Center was the sight for Taylor's pinning services on Thursday, February 20th, where friends, family, colleagues, and County Officials gathered to celebrate Chief Taylor’s achievement.

 

Chief Taylor has been White County Fire Services since the age of just 15, as a member of the Fire Explorer program. By 18, Taylor reportedly had transitioned to a volunteer firefighter, and in 2013, he was among the first career firefighters hired by White County. Chief Taylor has gradually received promotions over the past 12 years to Shift Captain and Battalion Chief of Administration.

White County Director of Public Safety, David Murphy, saind in this week's release that, “Chief Taylor has been a dedicated leader whose passion for service and training has strengthened White County Fire Services. His professionalism and vision for the future of the department make him the right person for this role. I look forward to seeing him continue to lead and make a lasting impact.”

As Assistant Chief, Taylor will place a strong emphasis on Operations and Training, working to enhance the department’s readiness and ensure firefighters receive top-tier training. His leadership will play a key role in maintaining the highest level of emergency services for White County’s residents and visitors.

A lifelong resident of White County, Chief Taylor resides in the Leaf Community with his wife, and their three children. His dedication to the department and commitment to its growth and excellence are evident in his years of service.
