Authorities in Habersham County seized a large quantity of drugs and arrested two suspects Tuesday following a two week investigation into illegal narcotics activity in the area.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence just outside of Alto on Feb.11. During the search, deputies reportedly discovered large amounts of marijuana, THC concentrates, vapes,gummies, edibles, two firearms and a sum of money.
Jonathan Clayton Burrell of Cornelia and Kateland Elaine Heffner of Cleveland were arrested in the case.
Burrell faces multiple felony charges including sale of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during certain crimes, three counts of possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Meanwhile Heffner faces felony charges including sale of marijuana, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during certain crimes, three counts of possession of THC with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Burell and Heffner remain in the Habersham County Detention Center as of last report. The Investigation is active and ongoing.
