JASPER, Ga. — Chestatee advanced to the semifinals of the Region 6-3A tournament after using a second half rally to beat rival North Hall 53-45 on Tuesday at the Pickens High gym.
The Lady War Eagles (19-7) trailed 20-15 at halftime after being held to just 4 second quarter points. But they exploded for a 19-point third to grab a 34-33 lead heading into the final period.
The Chestatee offense continued to have its way, outscoring the Lady Trojans (8-18) 19-12 over the final eight minutes.
Payton Cable had 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead Chestatee. Ali Jae Bull had 15 points for the Lady War Eagles.
Athena Vachtsevanos had 19 points to pace North Hall. Lauren Hemmer had 14 and Camille Nix 10 for the Lady Trojans.
Chestatee moves to play the White County/Lumpkin County winner on Friday.

The Lady Tigers could not hold a third quarter lead in dropping a decision to the Lady Spartans in the quarterfinals of the Region 6-3A tournament.
Dawson County (15-11) had grabbed a 38-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter after using a 19-7 third quarter run. The game was tied at 44 midway through the fourth quarter but GAC closed out the game with a 13-0 run to get the upset win.
Eva Bishop led Dawson County with 19 points.
Asia Johnson paced GAC with 23 points, 14 in the fourth quarter.
GAC next will play the Pickens/Johnson winner in Friday’s semifinals.
