A slight jump in the price for unleaded gasoline is seen at the pumps across Georgia this week.
AAA of Georgia is reporting the average price for gas is up a penny from a week ago, at $2.94 per gallon today. That makes it a penny higher than a month ago, but 8 cents lower than the same time from last year.
Montrae Waiters from AAA of Georgia says while pump prices are remaining steady, there is an impending concern about what tariffs could do to prices. Waiters says, "Right now, it's just too early to predict."
AAA's price chart shows Hall County's average price is at $2.91 per gallon, with the lowest price in northeast Georgia found in Hart County at $2.79. The highest average prices are found between Forsyth and Banks counties at $2.97 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price for unleaded regular gasoline is four cents higher than last week (subject to change), at $3.13 per gallon, according to the AAA's latest numbers. According to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data, gasoline demand increased from 8.3 million, to 8.32 million barrels a day last week. Total domestic gasoline supply rose from 248.9 million to 251.1 million barrels, while gasoline production decreased, averaging 9.2 million barrels daily.
