A shooting in southern Gwinnett County left one person dead and another injured Saturday morning.
A release from the Gwinnett County Police Department said officers were called to an apartment complex on Ardsley Place near Norcross just after 10:00 a.m. where they found a man who had a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officers were then directed to another nearby apartment where they found a woman dead.
"This appears to be an isolated domestic event," Saturday's statement from Gwinnett Police said. "Citizens do not need to be concerned about an on-going threat."
Both names are being withheld as the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact police by calling 770-513-5300, or by going online to Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta.
