The father of the alleged Apalachee High School shooter has requested bond in his criminal case.
Colin Gray, the father of Colt Gray, is facing dozens of charges including second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct for allegedly allowing his son access to the gun used in the September 4, 2024 attack that left four people dead in the Barrow County school.
Gray's attorney, Brian A. Hobbs, filed the petition for bond in Barrow County Superior Court on Monday morning.
"The lack of bond denies the Defendant his federal and state constitutional right to be free of excessive bail," Monday's filing said.
The filing is requesting a hearing for bond. Gray is currently being held in the Barrow County Detention Center.
No date has been set yet for the start of either Colin or Colt Gray's criminal trials. Colt Gray is being held in an undisclosed regional youth detention center, also without bond.
