It's a pleasant veiw for Georgia drivers this week, to see outside temperatures rise while average gas prices fall to start the month of February.
The Georgia gas price average decreased at the pumps compared to a week ago. AAA of Georgia says that Georgians pay an average price of $2.93 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday's state average is 3 cents less than a week ago, 3 cents more than a month ago, and 10 cents less than last year.
Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “ Declining oil prices, coupled with lukewarm local demand, have allowed fuel prices to retreat from their peak for now. Moreover, with half of winter's chill behind us, we anticipate fewer unexpected price surges when we refuel.”
Average prices in Hall County slightly dropped to $2.89 per gallon as of Monday, with the highest average for northeast Georgia found in Banks County at $3.03 per gallon, and the lowest average found in Hart County, just below $2.80 per gallon.
Nationally, AAA shows the average price for unleaded regular gasoline is at $3.09 per gallon, a decrease of three cents from last week.
