Late Monday rains and below freezing road and ground temperatures have forced some northern Georgia counties to alter the school openings for Tuesday, January 28th.
The schools making the announcements include:
- Fannin County Public Schools - Schools operating on a virtual learning day schedule; 12-month personnel staff to report after 10:00 a.m.
- Gilmer County Public Schools - Virtual learning day for students. Please see your school website or Facebook page for more information concerning activities.
- Rabun County Schools - Virtual learning day from home for students; all staff sould report to schools by 10:00 a.m., or when it is safe to travel.
- Towns County Public Schools - Learn from home day, with 12 month employees to report to work after 10:00 a.m.
- Union County Schools - Due to icing on bridges and roadways throughout the county, Tuesday, January 28th will be an at-home learning day. Students should plan to complete assignments or classroom tasks from home.
