Habitat for Humanity of Hall County will officially open up the application cycle for its homeownership program on Feb.1.

The program is designed to aid individuals and families in need of affordable housing by providing the experience of home ownership. The application cycle will be open until Feb. 15, 2025.

As a part of the new application process, the nonprofit  will hold an informational Homeownership Application Orientation at 1:30 p.m. on Feb.1 at the Hall County Library on the Downtown Square in Gainesville. The orientation will provide an overview of the program, as well as partnership expectations and requirements.  The organization recommended those planning to attend RSVP.

According to a release from the nonprofit, applicants are required to demonstrate a need for affordable housing, complete volunteer hours with the organization, contribute $2,000 toward a down payment, agree to pay closing costs and demonstrate the ability to pay a monthly mortgage.

“As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Habitat for Humanity of Hall County’s mission is to advocate for and build affordable, accessible housing in the community,” the release said.“The organization relies on the generosity of local partners and volunteers to carry out its mission and provide sustainable housing solutions for individuals and families in need.”

Although the orientation will be held at the Hall County library located at  127 Main St NW, Gainesville, GA, the event is not endorsed by the Hall County Library or Government.
