Duluth man arrested in Saturday stabbing death of woman

Gwinnett County Police officials said Kurt Sebastian Omana Torres was arrested on Monday without incident and will be taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.

UPDATE:  Monday, January 13, 2025 @ 10:30 a.m.:

Police in Gwinnett County have identified the victim from last weekend's stabbing death of a woman in an apartment in unincorporated Norcross, and ask for help in locating the suspect in the case.

Gwinnett Police say they found the body of Ana Karen Ramos Hernandez, age 24, in her Hunters Club Lane apartment last Friday, January 10 at around 6:00 p.m. Officers said Hernandez was deceased at the time of their initial arrival.  

The search continues for the suspect, now identified as Kurt Sebastian Omana Torres, age 26 of Duluth.  His whereabouts were not known at the time of this publication.

Torres will face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the death of a female adult in unincorporated Norcross.

Officers in the West Precinct received a call at approximately 6:00 p.m. to a report of a stabbing in the area of 1200 Hunters Club Lane on Friday.

Upon arrival, they discovered the deceased body of one adult female inside of her apartment.

Detectives are currently conducting interviews and gathering evidence.

Preliminary information indicates this was a domestic-related incident between the deceased female and a known individual.
