A commercial vehicle overturning in northern Hall County Saturday morning led to a propane gas leak and “other unknown hazardous materials” to be released into a nearby stream.

According to the incident report, the commercial vehicle was from Peek Pavement Marking. The incident occurred on Holly Springs Road near Cleveland Highway in Clermont.

The driver, 31-year-old Jeremy Koger of Cleveland, Georgia, was traveling west  when he failed to maintain his lane and traveled onto the right shoulder.

He then overcorrected back left and crossed the double yellow line and the eastbound lane before traveling off the roadway.

The truck hit several small trees while rotating then went down a steep embankment.

It overturned onto its driver’s side after traveling 200 feet.

Koger was taken by Hall County EMS to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center for injuries.

There was another occupant, 42-year-old Emery Morrison of Cleveland who was not transported for any injuries.

A HAZMAT crew was notified and responded to assist on the scene.
