A man was arrested early Monday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and held her against her will at a home in Oakwood.
The Hall County Sherrif’s Office said deputies responded at around 2:30 a.m. to a home in the 4000 block of Tracy Lane where a domestic dispute was taking place.
A preliminary investigation revealed Travis Binns, 35 hit a 32-year-old female in her face with his fist, dragged her by her hair to the ground and then punched her repeatedly.
Binns also allegedly held the victim against her will and threatened to strangle her.
“Additionally, he intentionally damaged the victim’s smartphone and watch and burned photographs in the home,” HCSO officials said.
Binns has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, terroristic threats/ acts under the Family Violence Act and second-degree criminal damage to property under FVPSA, all felonies.
He was also charged with two misdemeanors including Battery under FVPSA and reckless conduct.
Binns was taken to the Hall County Jail where he remains without bond as of Tuesday afternoon.
The case remains under investigation.
