Grinding of the roadways pavement will take place this week during overnight hours along State Route (SR) 316/Atlanta Highway between Harry McCarty Road and Harrison Mill Road.

Georgia Deparment of Transportation (GDOT)  says the grinding will help even out the old roadways to match the new roadways on SR 316 eastbound and westbound. Lane closures will alternate between the LEFT and RIGHT Lanes to complete the grinding.

Traffic will be paced and flagged during this operation and GDOT is advising motorists to use caution while driving through the area as the project will continue through Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 8 p.m. each night, and continue until 5:30 a.m. the following day.

A reminder from GDOT that the exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. You can real-time information on work status and traffic conditions by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 app.
