Gwinnett County Police detectives asked the public for help locating a suspect accused of robbing several people at gunpoint.

The Gwinnett County Police Department said Jay-Lan Broughton 17, of Duluth, was named as an accomplice in the robberies.

Officers responded on May 24 to a 911 call near the 6000 block of Apple Grove Road in Buford. Officers met with two victims and one had their jewelry, debit card, air pods and license stolen by a man armed with a gun and four accomplices.

Detectives found a vehicle used by the suspects after the robbery and discovered Edmond Buggs, 17, of Lawrenceville was connected to the vehicle and was arrested on a separate armed robbery charge.

Buggs reportedly identified the male armed with the gun during the robbery as Broughton.

“Investigators were able to corroborate the identification with video surveillance that captured the robbery,” GCPD officials said.

Detectives have not located Broughton and hope the public can provide tips on his whereabouts.

He is possibly still armed with a black handgun and could be somewhere in Gwinnett County.
