DAHLONEGA, Ga. – GAC scored the final 19 points of the game as the Spartans took down Lumpkin County, 19-13, Friday night at The Burial Grounds.
The Indians jumped out to a 13-0 lead by halftime, starting with a Nolan Matthews 16-yard rushing score followed by two Josue Nieto 23-yard field goals.
The Spartans went on to slow down Lumpkin County's offense in the second half and score 19 points, including a 5-yard rushing score with under 90 seconds to go.
Cal Faulkner finished the night 10-for-21 for 101 yards through the air, while Nolan Matthews had 98 yards rushing. GAC's quarterback Tommy Young threw for 353 yards on the night.
The Indians will host Chestatee next week, looking to get back into the win column.
