Barrow County officials will hold two open house events to collect citizen feedback on transportation safety in the community.
As part of its Safe Streets 4 All (SS4A) plan development, the events will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 at the Barrow County Historic Courthouse, located on 30 North Broad Street in Winder.
The events will include an overview of a recent safety analysis conducted on Barrow County’s roadway segments and intersections where fatal and serious-injury accidents have happened, along with proposed countermeasures to reduce them in the future.
Barrow County Public Works Director Chris Yancey says in a release, “As we look to improve the safety of our local roads, we know that the most important voice in the matter belongs to the citizens who drive these roads on a daily basis.”
The event will be held in the Commission Meeting Room. Atendees do not need to stay the full allotted time to participate in the drop-in styled events. Both sessions will be open to the public and free to attend.
