GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Chestatee ran its match win streak to four with a pair of non-region wins on Thursday on the road.
The Lady War Eagles (14-5) opened the tri-match at the Gainesville gym with a 25-16, 25-16 win over Habersham Central and then held off host ina thrilling three-set match in the nightcap.
For Chestatee against Gainesville, Kaya Snow took over service down 21-15 in the first set and won the final 10 points on serve to open the match. The Lady Red Elephants rallied to take the second set, 24-26. The Lady War Eagles pulled away for a 15-7 win in the third set to clinch the match.
Senior outside hitters Kadence Wolfe (24 kills, 3 aces and 14 digs) and Valiree Schmus (27 kills, 2 blocks and 4 aces) were a tough duo up front for the Lady War Eagles. Junior setter Natalie Sykes ran the offense with 39 assists, 2 aces and 16 digs for Chestatee.
Senior Payton Cable had 4 kills, 2 blocks and 10 digs, senior Libero Emily Graham added 16 digs, 10 assist and 3 aces, and Snow finished 2 kills, 10 digs, 1 ace and 1 block to go with her impressive service run vs. Gainesville.
Chestatee is off until next Thursday, playing host to a non-region tri-match against Franklin County and North Gwinnett.
