A three-vehicle crash on I-85 was caused by a medical emergency, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reports.
On Tuesday afternoon at around 3 p.m., troopers responded to the crash on I-85 north near Franklin County.
A 2018 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling northbound when the driver reportedly experienced a medical emergency.
The Suburban — driven by 57-year-old Timothy Allen of Alpharetta — went off the roadway into the emergency lane where it struck a 2023 Ford F-450 — driven by 50-year-old Bykov Bohdan of Illinois.
After striking the F-450 in the rear, the Suburban turned onto its side and went back onto the interstate, blocking both lanes.
Debris from the Suburban struck a 2022 Ford F-450 — driven by 26-year-old Lutsiv Liubomyr of Florida — that was parked in the emergency lane trying to assist the other F-450 that was disabled.
No serious injuries were reported and no one was transported by EMS. Allen was the only person who suffered injuries, which were reported as minor.
