The Hall County Animal Shelter’s Furry Fall Festival will return for a second year on Oct. 19.

The event, which will feature an adoption area, animal services and vendors, will take place at Laurel Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hall County Animal Shelter Manager Stephanie Maloch shared in a release the event aims to bring pet lovers together.

“We had an incredible turnout last year,” Maloch said. “So we are excited to be able to bring this event back to our community pet owners and soon-to-be pet owners who might find their next family member at the festival.”

The festival’s adoption area will show the shelter’s adoptable dogs, along with a free rabies vaccine clinic and microchipping for dogs. Cat owners who attend the event will receive a voucher to redeem for the free services at the Hall County Animal Shelter.

Malchoh explained the services are meant to help owners maintain the health and safety of their pets.

“As a department, we cannot stress enough the importance of rabies vaccines and microchipping your pets,” Maloch said. “While the rabies vaccine will protect your pets and other animals, the microchip will ensure we can connect you back with your pet should it go missing, be brought to our shelter or be picked up by animal control.”

Animal lovers will also be able to look forward to food trucks, vendors, and a pet costume contest with a prize for the first place winner.

Event coordinators are currently accepting free vendor reservations with a donation to the Hall County Animal Shelter.
