One person is hospitalized following an overnight house fire in the city of Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Fire Rescue responded to the 911 call coming from a home on the 3500 block of River Drive in Lawrenceville after 2:30 (Wednesday) this morning. Officials say upon arrival they found a working fire in the single-family structure, with the homeowner reporting a family member was still inside.

Search teams were able to locate the unidentified adult male and a canine pet, and rescue them from the blaze.

The adult was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the fire was doused within one hour of Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Service's arrival.

The cause for the fire has been initially deemed accidental in nature from an electrical source.
