Two teens were arrested near Buford Tuesday after they allegedly stole a pickup truck and used it to damage a high school football field, then nearly struck an officer with it before crashing.

Gwinnett County Police received a report of two suspects stealing the Ram 1500 pickup truck from a driveway on Adams Acre Drive in Lawrenceville after they supposedly entered the vehicle and found a set of keys inside.

The owner of the truck had video surveillance of the two entering multiple vehicles and driving off with the truck, according to a press release from the department. The suspects then reportedly drove the truck to Mill Creek High School and used it to damage the football field.

Later that day, several Flock cameras picked up surveillance of the truck in Buford. Officers were able to locate the truck behind a Walmart on Sardis Church Road, with the two suspects still inside the vehicle.

Officers blocked the truck in the parking lot by parking vehicles in front and behind it, however, when officers gave commands to the suspects, the driver allegedly drove the vehicle towards an officer, nearly striking him with the truck.

Officers followed the truck as it drove away, and watched as it crashed into another vehicle on  Hamilton Mill Road. Upon crashing, both occupants got out of the truck and fled on foot.  Officers were able to chase and apprehend both suspects.

The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old female, was tased while running from officers and arrested. She was taken to a youth detention center.

The second suspect, Robert Krause, 17, of Lawrenceville, fled into a woodline and was  spotted by the department's aviation unit in the area of Seckinger High School. Krause was arrested by GCPD officers a short time later and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.

The two suspects were charged with aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, hit and run, driving without a license, obstruction, giving false name to a police officer, theft by taking motor vehicle, and entering auto.

Gwinnett Police Officers apprehended Robert Krause, 17, of Lawrenceville (pictured) and a 16-year -old female suspect on August 6 after the two attempted to flee from officers in Buford.
