The Gainesville Police Department and other area organizations reminded boaters to use caution ahead of the ACA Sprint National Championships at the Lake Lanier Olympic Park.
Sponsored by the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, the championships will take place Tuesday through Friday.
In a Facebook post, the department asked that boaters keep a safe distance from athletes competing on the water and be aware of their surroundings.
