A Cleveland home was destroyed in a fire early Saturday morning.
The Cleveland Fire department was rcalled to the scene in the area of Bayberry Lane and Skitts Mountain Road at around 5 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke in that location. White County Fire Service, Cleveland Fire Department, White County EMS, White County Emergency Management, and White County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the area, according to a release from White County.
Once units arrived at the home, they discovered the building was fully engulfed in flames. First responders were able to make contact with the sole occupant of the home, confirming everyone had escaped the incident.
The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office as of last report.
