A Gainesville man is in jail on more than a dozen charges after authorities said he rammed his pickup truck into a home during a domestic dispute and then led deputies on a chase Tuesday night.

Hall County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman B.J. Williams said deputies were called to the home on Pine Circle Drive just off Spring Road around 7:45 that evening to a report of the truck crashing into the home. When they began investigating, they learned that Loreto Solorzano-Espinoza, age 42, had fled the scene after the crash.

"He had gotten out of that vehicle and started using a piece of wood and began breaking windows of the home," Williams said. "The suspect also had a warrant for simple battery from June 22 involving the same adult female victim...they determined as well that the suspect, during that day, had been placing harassing phone calls from various numbers to the victim, so she was frightened."

Williams said as deputies left the scene, they saw the pickup truck on nearby Spring Road. They tried to stop the truck, but Solorzano-Espinoza allegedly fled.

"He hit a parked vehicle while he was fleeing," Williams said. "He then traveled onto Pine Circle Drive, he got out of his vehicle and ran when he saw our deputies."

Williams said deputies were able to arrest Solorzano-Espinoza after a brief foot chase. She said Solorzano-Espinoza continued to be combative during the arrest.

"Even once he got into the back of the patrol vehicle, he purposely slammed his head into the partition in the back of the vehicle, so he sustained some cuts across his forehead," Williams said.

Solorzano-Espinoza was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of those injuries. Once cleared, he was booked into the Hall County Jail on a list of 17 charges including battery, terroristic threats, stalking, DUI, reckless driving and an immigration violation.

Solorzano-Espinoza is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. No other people were hurt in the incident.
