A crash with fatal results has claimed the life of an Elbert County passenger, while the driver from the rollover crash recovers from serious injuries.
Georgia State Patrol (GSP) says they were called to the scene of a truck crash on Nickville Road around Knotts Landing Drive in Elbert County Wednesday afternoon, July 3, after 5:40 p.m. A black 2003 Ford Ranger was traveling south on Nickville Road when it left the roadway, overturned several times, and struck a tree.
The passenger of the vehicle, 23- Keegan Polnaszek, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the vehicle, 22-year old Aidan Polnaszek, was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional with non-life-threatening injuries. The GSP’s Specialized Collison Reconstruction Team (SCRT) was notified and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
GSP officials say the investigation is on-going, and no charges have been filed as of this report.
