Jackson Electric Membership Corporation’s (EMC) communication department recently won seven national awards.
“These awards demonstrate our dedication to developing impactful communication strategies and projects that enhance the understanding of Jackson EMC, its team, and its mission and values,” said Jackson EMC Vice President of Communication April Sorrow. “We’re extremely proud of this achievement and the talented team being honored.”
Jackson EMC won four awards from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Spotlight on Excellence Awards Contest:

The annual Spotlight on Excellence Awards recognizes communication and marketing efforts by the nation’s electric cooperatives. This year, the contest received 804 entries from nearly 180 cooperatives.
The other awarding body was the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA). They held their Communication Contest, awarding Jackson EMC three times:

This year’s CCA Communication Contest received more than 400 entries from more than 40 cooperatives.
The team members honored included Jewel Caruso, Karen Ewing, Lila Higginbotham, Wendy Jones, Dekotah Mathis, April Sorrow, Kerri Testement, and Lauren White.
